Who is Astro Foods International?

Astro Foods International is a privately owned distributor which began in 1980. We specialize in distributing pepper products for the food industry. Our primary objective is to provide the finest quality pepper products for industrial and institutional usage. AFI's pepper products are used by restaurants, bakeries and food service distributors. Our products are also used as ingredients by many industrial companies. 

Where are your peppers grown?

Our peppers are grown in Mexico which is widely recognized as the finest growing region for pepper products in the world. Mexico's perfect temperature, fertile soil and excellent atmosphere has ideal growing conditions to grow better-quality peppers. 

What pepper variety do you grow?

Our peppers come from a Veracruz variety seed. We believe the Veracruz  variety produces a pepper that has superior flavor and the right amount of heat.

What is the growing season for peppers per year?

There are two main growing seasons per year. Summer and Winter. The Summer season is July - October. The Winter season is February - April.

What types of peppers do you offer?

We offer jalapeño, chipotle, serrano, banana peppers, and other pepper products for the food service industry.

What types of pepper cuts do you offer?

We can provide nacho slices, whole, diced peppers, puree and special requests.

How do you ensure food safety?

Astro Foods International, Inc., is fully committed to food safety, which it regards as its highest priority.  The company makes sure that all the products it distributes are backed by a a comprehensive HACCP-based GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) Food Safety program and undergoes a third-party Food Safety certification audit once a year.

How are your peppers packaged?

We offer an array of options for our customers. Our peppers come in 6/10 cans, full pouch, half pouch, 5 gallon pails, 55 gallon drums, and pet jars.

What is the shelf life of your peppers?

It depends on the packaging.

Do you offer private label services?

Yes we do. You supply us with your artwork and plates. There is also a minimum order you must purchase for us to provide this service for you. Contact our sales department for more details.

Do you work with distributors?

Yes, we supply our products to all major distributors. If you are a small company who wants to purchase a minimum amount, you can source our product from other distributors.
